Jack's 3rd Birthday

Jack celebrated his 3rd birthday with a Lightning McQueen birthday party theme. There were tires(mini oreos) grease(caramel topping) oil(chocolate syrup) washer fluid(jolly rancher topping) smoke(whipped topping) and of course sprinkles for the Lightning McQueen sundaes. it was so fun this year because he was into it all.

Carving pumpkins

we went to my brother's house and carved pumpkins with landon, haydon and layne. i think ryan and i did most of the work and had the most fun. the boys were all grossed out by the "guts."

latest happenings

okay so now that i am on facebook i have not been keeping up with my blog! we have had a busy fall already starting out october with a wedding, then jack started basketball which i am starting to wonder if i paid $25 for a t-shirt rather than b-ball lessons and time with other children. i am going to think positive. joe is gearing up for the upcoming duck hunting season and i am soon to be become a duck hunting widow(although i am not very sad!) my niece and nephews are all growing and i have a few pics of them too. layne and jack both have birthdays next month and jack is excited to be 3 and pass his 2 onto layne. enjoy!

Welcome Baby Malia!!

My first niece Malia Ann, was born Monday July 27th. She weighed 8lbs. 11oz. and was 21 inches long. she is already a chunker with chubby little cheeks. she may need to be a little stronger since big brother Layne thinks she is pretty much it and may want to get a hold of her if you turn your back on him. leisha and malia are both doing great and jack is excited to have a new cousin!

At the River-Fishing

joe took jack and i fishing on the river. he gave jack an actual hook with a worm on it and helped him to cast and catch several bluegill. he was very proud of the first several and then grew bored and asked to go to the sandbar. i was pretty proud he lasted about 45 minutes, not bad for a 2 year old!

Jayme's wedding

On May 31st we went to my cousin Jayme's wedding. Jack had so much fun dancing and playing with all the kids.

New Found Freedom

Jack will be so glad i took these pictures. He's wearing underwear now and this is what he wanted to wear to Aunt Leisha's today. I told him that was fine,but he had to wear shorts and a shirt.

Fishing With Dad

Jack finally got to try out his new fishing pole. The whole fishing experience lasted as long as it took me to take the pictures then he just wanted to throw rocks in the creek.

Moving!

Well the reason I have so behind on my blog is because we have been in the process of moving. We are all settled in finally! Well we are here and so is all of our stuff, but we still have much to put away. We sold our house on March 27th and stayed with my parents until April 15th. It was a crazy month. I am just so glad it has settled down a bit and we can relax some, although I still have a lot to do. What we didn't want upstairs went to the basement and has yet to be put away. I have only unpacked one box of jack's toys, so I need to go through that and put it away. He is okay with the 5 trucks he plays with daily, but it is pretty boring for anyone else. We will invite guests over soon!

Easter

We had a good Easter this year. On Good Friday we dyed easter eggs with my mom and dad. jack lost interest pretty quickly as did MaMa and Daddy, so it ended up being me and my dad finishing up, but that's okay because we had fun. Maybe we will even do it again next year. On Easter the weather cooperated enough we were able to take the boys outside for an easter egg hunt. They all had so much fun. Jack figured it out very quickly and filled his basket up. Landon was excited because he could get so many eggs and Haydon asked if we could have another easter egg hunt sometime. Everyone helped open up the eggs and the boys even shared. We had a houseful at my mom and dad's which was really nice! Grandma and Grandpa Baker, Great-Great Aunt Sarah, Great Aunt Pam and Uncle Larry, Great Aunt Penny, Ryan, Leisha, the boys and us! It was fun! this was the day my mom's garbage disposal quit working so after everyone left we all went to Lowe's to get a new one. What a funny Easter!

Monster Jam!

We have been planning to take jack to Monster Jam for months! He is so crazy about monster trucks(i hope its not in his future) we got tickets for the St. Louis show. when we bought the tickets we didn't know it was also Mardi Gras, so here's how our night played out. we left our house at 4:30 and made it to The Edward Jones Dome around 8:00. jack never lost his patience, but joe and i were really close. we drove around for an hour looking for parking and then had to pay $20 just to park. it was worth all of it just to see the look on jack's face. he never took his eyes off the track even while he ate popcorn. unfortunately i didn't get many pictures of him because he never moved and his face never changed the entire time, but i have a few pics. of the arena. he is still saying 2 weeks later "we were late for Monster Jam." We had AWESOME seats by the way!

Weekend Get-Away

we decided Valentine's Weekend was a good time to get away. we left sat. and spent the day at the outlet mall in the Ozarks. we took jack to a hotel with an indoor pool and then later for icecream which he got all over(that's the fun of it, right?), then on sun. we headed to springfield mo for the the Bass Pro Shop. it was okay, but the one in St. Charles was just as cool to a 2 yr. old. there is this museum next to it we wanted to go to, but it was closed for renovation. we also went to the mall there. we all had tired feet by Sunday night, but it was fun and we liked getting out of the house together. jack slept most of the way home, so that was nice.

Going Bonkers!

On MLK Day my sister-in-law Leisha and I took jack and my nephews to Going Bonkers in Quincy. Jack wasn't sure what he thought about it at first then he decided it was a pretty good time.
He's getting big and brave now. He's climbed out of his bed 2 days in a row. I guess it's time for a toddler bed.
He had his first black eye. i woke up on sunday and i said what happened to your eye. he said "daddy cut me." actually he was in the shower and a cup fell off the faucet and cut him, but since daddy was there he blamed it on him. i think joe felt pretty bad, but when he kept saying daddy cut me, i think it made it worse.
